I hope that you have all been enjoying your early Spring! The 2017 Indiana PAS Day of Percussion at DePauw University is coming up fast (Saturday, April 8th 2017), and I wanted to send out an update.

Guest Clinicians

This year we will be welcoming She-e Wu of Northwestern University, Brian Mason of Morehead State University, and local drum set artist Kenny Phelps.

Admission

This year, all participants will be asked to pay for admission into the Day of Percussion. This is the only way that Indiana PAS can continue to offer incredible clinicians and offer contest opportunities. The rate will be $10 for pre-registration (April 1st Deadline) and $15 for the day of registration. Admission will include entrance to all concerts and clinics as well as entry into our door prize drawings.

Percussion Ensemble Performances

We currently have performances by the following groups:
Ball State University
Indiana State University
Indiana Wesleyan University
Northridge High School
Kokomo High School Steel Band

If you know of a percussion ensemble (high school, college, or professional!) that might be interested in performing at the Day of Percussion, please contact me ASAP at torresj@centergrove.k12.in.us.

Marimba Competition

New for 2017, Indiana PAS will offer a high school and collegiate marimba competition.
Judges include: She-e Wu, Brian Mason, Ming-Hui Kuo, and Kevin Bobo.

Entry Fee: $25 (includes admission into Indiana PAS Day of Percussion)

Prizes (for both divisions):
1st Place- Complimentary 2017 PASIC Registration + Prize Pack
2nd Place- Complimentary PAS Membership + Prize Pack
3rd Place- Complimentary passes to Rhythm Discovery Center + Prize Pack

Outstanding High School students will also be eligible for undergraduate scholarships to DePauw University for up to $25,000 (1st place), $20,000 (2nd place), and $15,000 (3rd place) annually.
