Set-Up Demonstration: Xylo Kit

During this time of year we get a lot of questions about starter percussion kits and how to go about setting them up properly. The Debut instrument rental program from Paige’s Music offers a few different options for starting percussion students. You can find a video below to the Xylo Kit model that has become popular over the last few years with many schools. By following the video and keeping the tips below in mind, you should have no problem getting you instrument set-up properly right from the start!

Quick Set-Up Tip and Tricks: Xylo Kit

    1. The Xylo Kit and Practice Pad share the same stand. So you will need to change them out depending on your practice needs.
    2. Be sure not to overtighten wing bolts or wing screws that this can cause damage to your stand.
    3. Set up the stand base and stand top first to make it as level as possible before attaching the xylophone. This will help with making sure the instrument is flat and will need only small adjustments once attached properly.
    4. When setting up the xylophone try to make the tripod base with 1 leg in the back (player side) and 2 in the front (music stand side), this will allow for the best balance on the stand.

We hope this is helpful and happy practicing! Please feel free to call us at 317-813-2070 if you need any further assistance and we will be happy to help you!
