Set-Up Demonstration: Percussion/Combo Kit

During this time of year we get a lot of questions about starter percussion kits and how to go about setting them up properly. The Debut instrument rental program from Paige’s Music offers a few different options for starting percussion students. You can find a video below to the Percussion (bell kit only) or Combo Kit(bell and snare) model that comes with many components that you will need to know how to set-up. By following the video and keeping the tips below in mind, you should have no problem getting you instrument set-up properly right from the start!

Quick Set-Up Tip and Tricks: Percussion/Combo Kit

    1. The bells and practice pad share the same stand. Depending on what brand of kit you have, the practice pad will screw into the top of the stand or if you have a Tama kit, it will actually sit in the X-style basket.
    2. Be sure not to overtighten wing bolts or wing screws that this can cause damage to your stand.
    3. Be sure to secure the zippers before moving things around.
    4. When loading items back into the bag/case, try not to over pack one side. This will make sure the zippers do not get over-stretched and will continue to function well over time.

We hope this is helpful and happy practicing! Please feel free to call us at 317-813-2070 if you need any further assistance and we will be happy to help you!
